Orlando City SC announced on Friday that it has signed former Chicago Fire striker Guiseppe Gentile for the remainder of the 2014 USL PRO season. Gentile will be available for selection in City’s match against the Wilmington Hammerheads on Saturday at ESPN Wide World of Sports, according to the club release.
He even tweeted this out shortly after the announcement:

At just 22-years-old, Gentile was acquired by the Fire on January 24 through the MLS Waiver Draft, where he scored two goals in three reserve matches for the Fire before being loaned to the Charlotte Eagles, of USL PRO, scoring one goal in 11 appearances with the Eagles this season.
Gentile will help fill up an obvious need at the top of the field for Orlando, who has been playing with just Dennis Chin and Corey Hertzog on it’s roster this season. Chin opened the year as the starting forward before going down with a hamstring injury. Since his return, he hasn’t been able to regain his starting spot, with Hertzog getting most of the playing time.
“We’re looking to strengthen our front-line for the remainder of the season and adding a player like Giuseppe provides that for us,” said Head Coach Adrian Heath in a statement. Follow @OTowns11
