Dennis Chin, who scored the first goal of the night, and Adama Mbengue were given honorable mentions.
Pulis scored the second goal, a penalty kick, of the night in Orlando’s 2-0 victory over the Wilmington Hammerheads, which extended their unbeaten streak to 17 games to open the season. Redding, meanwhile, played another strong game on Orlando’s back line, heading contribute to the shutout performance.
Pulis actually had to leave late in the second half of Saturday’s game with a thigh sprain, according to Head Coach Adrian Heath. Heath didn’t really say how serious the injury was, or how much time he’ll have to miss, if any. I would say that it’s possible he won’t play against Sacramento Republic FC on Thursday in California.
The Lions continues their run at an undefeated season this Thursday at Bonney Field as Sacramento and Orlando City meet for the first time at 10:30 p.m.
