Former Orlando City midfielder Heine Gikling Bruseth has rejoined former club Kristiansund BK on a three-year deal from San Diego FC, bringing an end to his fruitless eighteen-month spell in Major League Soccer.

"It feels great to be back in Nordmรธre," said the 21-year-old on Kristiansund's official website. "I look forward to playing in front of the fans and the rest of the city again and showing what we have to offer."

Arriving in Central Florida two summers ago for a reported $1 million via the league's U-22 Initiative, Bruseth failed to make a single appearance in purple before being left unprotected as San Diego made the first additions to their roster at last December's expansion draft ceremony.

The very first to be selected that day, Orlando fans feared Bruseth would be the one who got away.

But his fortunes were not to improve. Half a year later, once again having failed to register a single competitive appearance, he was loaned to Sarpsborg 08 back in his native Norway where he was reunited with his former coach, Christian Michelsen.

Returning to San Diego this off-season surplus to requirements, Bruseth will hope that this latest move brings some much needed stability with which to reignite his career. If his track record at youth level in Norway is to be trusted then there's clearly a player in there, but his move to North America probably came too soon.

Adding two new U-22 Initiative players this winter in the shape of Tiago and Luis Otรกvio, Orlando will be targeting significantly improved results this time around.
