2022 Orlando City Season Preview

It's time. We've looked at the preseason from every possible angle, breaking down the roster, the schedule, the transfers and everything else you can think of. Now it's time to look at the Orlando City season proper.

The Lions open the 2022 Major League Soccer regular season this Sunday at Exploria Stadium against CF Montreal. That is the first of 34 games across a long season that will also feature the return of the US Open Cup. To predict and preview the season ahead, I'm going to borrow the format from the good folks over at ExtraTime: Regular Season Finish, MVP, Defender of the Year, Golden Boot, 22 under 22 Player, Playoff Finish, and we'll add a US Open Cup finish, as well. I'm not going in that exact order so you've been warned.
