Peruvian international defensive midfielder Wilder Cartagena arrived last summer on loan. Orlando made Cartagena's loan permanent his offseason after he proved to be a reliable depth piece in the Lions' midfield.
He'll be the primary backup at that defenisve midfield spot. Given the bulk of competitions and different tactical wrinkles that could be used throughout the season, Cartagena could play significant minutes for Orlando City.
