Center back Thomas Williams

According to those in attendance at last Saturday's friendly against FC Dallas, the homegrown center back had a strong showing. It was just a preseason match, but he did start and play with and against real first-team players. Beyond just a decent preseason showing, Williams is arguably the most talked about academy product in Orlando in some time.

When he was signed to the first team last season, many around the club raved about how talented he is and how high his ceiling could be. If that's true, then 2022 could be when that talented starts to manifest. He won't be a starter -- Robin Jansson and Antonio Carlos are one of the top pairings in MLS -- but he could be as high as fourth on the depth chart and could be a key contributor in midweek or cup games.
