After five years absence, defender Carson Pickett returned to a new, record-breaking Orlando Pride.

Orlando Pride is now in the business of breaking records. After five years away, defender Carson Pickett entered the match against the Houston Dash in the 61st minute and witnessed multiple new records set for the team and NWSL.

In that match ending in a 1-0 victory for the Orlando Pride, the team’s unbeaten streak stretched to 18 games. That’s a record for the club and NWSL and reaches back to the final match of the 2023 season.

This 18th victory of the 2024 season is a new club record. The previous tally is 17 wins in 2017.

Picket also saw goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse get her 15th career clean sheet and a team single-season record eight shutouts. Plus, forward Summer Yates got her fifth goal – and the third game-winner – of the season.

With Yates’ opening goal, the Pride became the first team to score on the Dash at home since May 17.

Then in the second half, Carson Pickett returned to Orlando. She has stayed busy for the five years she was away.

Just this season, she played 17 matches for Racing Louisville. Besides focusing on defense, she scored a goal and tallied two assists. She also spent time with the USA team in the 2024 Olympics.

She’s ready to invest fully in the 2024 Orlando Pride system. She said in her experience that the best soccer teams aren’t always the most skilled. Yet they win because they have the best culture.

Yet Orlando pride has proved the skill of all the players and, as Pickett puts it, has an amazing culture.

The best teams have a rich mix of young talent and veterans. She looks forward to offering guidance and in-match contributions to this squad.

Orlando Pride has a great mix of young talent and veterans. Carson Pickett is now one of the leading veterans.
