Comparing Ercan Kara to Other DP Strikers

Ercan Kara is the guy tasked to lead the line for Orlando City. The Austrian was a star for Rapid Vienna in the Austrian Bundesliga and will hopefully replicate or even improve upon that success stateside.

Just like we did for Facundo Torres, let's take a look at other similar transfers into MLS over the last few seasons and compare their pre-MLS numbers to Kara's. Before getting into the comparisons, let's remind ourselves of what the Austrian produced in his last full season for Rapid.

Kara was consistently good for a goal contributions two out of three games, a very high level return for any player. Considering this was over 2,500 minutes, that level of sustained production is even more impressive. If you look at Transfermarkt's assist numbers instead of FBRef.com (my go to for all footy stats), then those numbers jump up even more. Kara produced the goods for Rapid.
