Orlando's defense struggled down the stretch in 2021. At one point, the Brazilian center half looked like a lock for MLS Best XI or maybe even Defender of the Year, but the team's defensive performances took a nasty backslide and AC fell out of the national conversation. If Orlando's going to rebound defensively, their top defender has to deliver. He has Defender of the Year ability, now he has to fully deliver for a full season.
