Moutinho is the only nominal left back on the roster and one of the more interesting players on Orlando City's roster. A Best XI player at the MLS is Back tournament in 2020, Moutinho has been ravaged with injuries the last two seasons. He missed almost all of 2021, leaving the left back spot to Kyle Smith and Emmanuel Mas, who is now gone.

On his day, Moutinho is one of the best left backs in MLS. Orlando's tactical system has the left back function as more of a possession center back offensively, limiting his ability to overlap and cross, but in either role, Moutinho has been excellent. If he's healthy and playing like himself, Orlando has the left back spot locked up.
