Orlando Pride 2023 NWSL Schedule released
The Orlando Pride and the National Women's Soccer League released their schedule for the upcoming 2023 season. The Pride will open its season March 26 on the road against the reigning NWSL champion Portland Thorns. The home slate starts April 2 against Angel City FC.
Orlando will play a 22-game regular season and participate in the 6-game NWSL Challenge Cup for the fourth time. Instead of a standalone tournament, the Challenge Cup will run alongside the regular season.
After starting the season in Portland, the Pride has a three-game home stand. Orlando hosts NY/NJ Gotham FC and the North Carolina Courage after the home opener against Angel City. The match against the Courage is also the first game of the Challenge Cup.
The Pride will have another three-game home stand from Aug. 4 to Aug. 25. Orlando hosts the Washington Spirit in the Challenge Cup group stage finale before playing the Chicago Red Stars and San Diego Wave in league action.
There's just one three-game road strip on the books for the Pride this season. Orlando will travel to face the Red Stars May 27 before facing the Houston Dash June 3 and ending the trip with a Challenge Cup match with NY/NJ Gotham FC June 7.
Orlando faces the Courage, Gotham and the Spirit in the Challenge Cup. The tournament will be a home-and-home round robin throughout the season. The semifinals of the Challenge Cup will be Sept. 6 with the final set for Sept. 9.
In the regular season, the Pride will host the Thorns June 11 in a massive home midsummer home match. Orlando will also host OL Reign (July 7) and the Wave (Aug. 25) later in the year.
The last game of the season will be at home against the Houston Dash Oct. 15. Six teams will qualify for the playoffs with the top two seeds earning first round byes. The quarterfinals are set for Oct. 22, with the semifinals scheduled for Nov. 4.
The NWSL Final will be played on Nov. 11.
