7. 2020: 0-0 vs. Real Salt Lake
This is the only season opener to date that I've attended and I don't remember anything from it. One of the two pre-pandemic games in the 2020 season, the home opener against RSL was a completely forgettable 0-0 draw. For what it's worth, Orlando did hold the visitors to a dismal 0.2 expected goals, so that's nice. It was also the debut for Pedro Gallese, Antonio Carlos and Junior Urso.
6. 2021: 0-0 vs. Atlanta United
I thought about making each of these a tie for last, but the 2021 opener was a bit more exciting than its predecessor. For one, Orlando absolutely should've won that game. The chances were there. This was also the Pato game, where the Brazilian looked really, really good, only to get injured and go on to miss basically the rest of the season. It's also the only rivalry game to open a season, which is an interesting quirk.
