D Abdi Salim
Expectations: Defensive anchor for Orlando City B
Orlando signed late first round draft pick Abdi Salim this week after the former Syracuse star spent the past few weeks in training camp. Salim helped the Orange win a national championship this past college season and is another solid defensive prospect alongside the Lions' crop of talented Homegrowns.
Salim likely won't play a significant role for Orlando in MLS this season, but he could be a stalwart for OCB in MLS NEXT Pro. Last year's first round pick Jack Lynn tore up the development last year, and Salim could have a comparable campaign from the back line (in terms of being a reliable starter, not scoring heaps of goals).
