United Soccer League
Orlando City should start its depth of scouting in its own backyard. MLS has neglected to seriously invest in USL players, but it's a potentially burgeoning market. Toronto FC's Mark-Anthony Kaye and Real Salt Lake's Diego Luna are some of the more notable USL to MLS transfers in the last decade.
Even Orlando brought in right back Kyle Smith from USL alongside former head coach James O'Connor, and that signing has been a shrewd depth addition for the Lions. USL might rarely produce star MLS players, but its an excellent way to find quality depth options on a budget.
