Daryl Dike, West Bromwich Albion
Dike's start to life in Europe is the saddest part of this post because it's gone the worst and he's the guy we all most want to succeed. Dike joined West Bromwich Albion of the English Championship, but played just 84 minutes for his new team before being sidelined with a hamstring injury.
It's especially sad because injuries exactly like this have derailed other USMNT prospects over the years, including Jozy Altidore, who has notorious hamstring issues. West Brom are performing well below expectations this season in the Championship, currently sitting at 12.
For a club expecting promotion every season in the second division, that's not good enough. Hopefully Dike will be healthy next season and can spearhead a big promotion campaign to earn a place in the Premier League.
