Orlando City B experiences the transfer season the same way as the first teams across MLS. It’s just that their transfers go to their first team.

MLS teams are busy moving players in and out among themselves during this transfer window. Players with the MLS NEXT Pro squad of Orlando City SC are also eligible for transfer. The difference is that Orlando City B players transfer to the First Team.

These transfers occur during the competition seasons and are often short-term contracts. Typical of these would be the short-term contract signing of defender Titus Sandy Jr. in October 2025. The center back had signed his MLS NEXT Pro contract in August of that same year.

MLS teams can sign their affiliates' players to short-term contracts of up to four days. They may sign the player up to four times each season.

Sandy was picked in 2025 with fellow Clemson player Joran Gerbet, another strong roster entry. Expect the team to take more looks at Sandy on their roster this season. He starts on the Orlando City B roster.

Sandy joins the squad’s most recent acquisition. The MLS NEXT Pro organization, in early 2026, added midfielder Ignacio Gomez. He is on loan from Velez Sarsfield II of Argentina’s Torneo de Reserva youth league.

The scouting report for Gomez promises a box-to-box midfielder who will add energy to the squad. He has appeared in 56 matches since his 2024 debut. He’s scored four goals in nearly 3,000 minutes. He’s a technical player who covers ground in showing up on both sides of the ball.

Gomez brings two titles with him to the City B clubhouse. He won both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 editions of the Copa LPF Proyeccion Inicial. That translates to the Initial LPF Projection Cup. This is the youth/reserve team tournament within Argentina’s top-tier professional football league – Liga Profesional de Futbol.

This season’s Orlando City B roster carries a great deal of promise. Orlando City SC will need to bank on that promise as the squad hunts for the MLS Cup.
