Setting expectations for Orlando City's SuperDraft picks
ST Duncan McGuire
Expectations: Solid No. 2 striker behind Ercan Kara
Duncan McGuire won the MAC Hermann trophy given to the best player in college soccer during his final season with the Creighton Blue Jays. The Omaha, Nebraska product team led the country with 23 goals.
Some analysts are insanely high on McGuire. MLSSoccer.com's Matt Doyle said on ExtraTime radio that he wouldn't be surprised if McGuire eventually beats out Designated Player Ercan Kara for the starting striker spot.
That's probably not going to happen --- especially in year one --- but McGuire has the potential to be a really solid backup striker behind the big Austrian up top. If McGuire stays on the first team most of the year and scores a handful of goals of the bench, that'll be a succesful rookie season.
