After bringing in former AC Milan midfielder Kaka this past week, Orlando City SC is apparently not wasting any time in trying to add another Brazilian star and former teammate with Kaka at Milan, Robinho, who was in talks with to terminate the remained of his contract with the Italian club.
According to an internet report, Orlando City has offered Robinho a contact to join Kaka in Orlando for the 2015 Major League Soccer season as City is looking to add another Brazilian next to the big star they just added.
The only problem, though, is that Robinho would have to find somewhere to play until the MLS season starts next spring. Kaka is getting ready to join Brazilian club Sao Paulo FC on load for the rest of 2014, and according to his Facebook account, he appears ready to join the team on Monday.
This internet report says that the situation should be resolved soon. I’m sure there would be no shortage of teams interested in his services, even if it were for a short period of time.
According to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport over two months ago, hopes to come to American and team up with Kaka in MLS, with Orlando City being the preferred destination.
The report also says that Robinho is looking to “finish his career” in the United States.
We saw a lot of conflicting reports regarding Kaka over the past few months, so it’s hard to say how much of this is true. Although, it would not surprise me one bit if Orlando actually did offer Robinho a contract. He would be another big addition for the team ahead of it’s inaugural MLS season.
