Orlando Pride Travel to Take on Houston Friday

Alex Morgan and the Orlando Pride (3-2-0, 9 points) kick off a four game road trip tonight when they face the Houston Dash (2-2-1, 7 points), at 8:30.

The game can be watched on YouTube via live stream here:

The Pride will try to stay hot as they they have won their last two matches and three out of the last four. They will want to improve on their away form as they haven’t earned any points from their two road games this season, at Portland and Chicago.

Alex Morgan is coming off of a game against Western New York where she scored a 78th volley from outside the box that chipped the keeper; it turned out to be the lone goal of the match and what a goal it was! The strike was good enough to win Morgan NWSL’s Goal of the Week honors.

Although the Pride already beat the Dash 3-1 earlier in the season, Head Coach Tom Sermanni is not taking the opponents lightly, saying “We’ve continued to improve as the season has gone on, as have other teams. But we know, if you look at virtually every other game in this [season] so far, there’s been maybe two goals separating teams, at best. So we’re expecting a very difficult and a very tight game against a very good soccer playing side,”

After Friday’s match, the Pride travel to take on reigning NWSL Champions FC Kansas City on Saturday, May 28th. The Pride don’t have another home match until June 22nd, after more than a month on the road!
